Country Rode 03:00
Music & Lyrics © 1972, 2013 by Robert Davidson Country Rode Let me out And set me free On a Country Rode Is where I want to be Give me a little Of your country land And you can be in my Country band Going up the country One fine day Took off my shoes And threw then away Old hippies Guitars corrode Walking down A Country Rode Oh hippies Let me go Let me into Your Country Rode Going up the country One fine day Took off my shoes And threw them away Oh hippies Let me go Let me into your Country Road You snuck into an airplane And flew out to L.A. Told ‘em all about country life And asked if they would play L.A. thought it was groovy And thumbed up to Vermont They sat around and said “far out... ...but is this what we want?” They jumped around the whole east coast Until they found a vineyard where They had seen James Taylor so They settled down there They threw off their shoes Bought some faded blue genes And then they grew their hair “We must be in heaven, man, or at least somewhere.” (fiddle solo)

All the Shoes in Vulgaria Are For Sale Music ©1973 by Robert Davidson Lyrics © 1973 by Robert Davidson & CP Roth The things you do When you tie my shoe And when you do It makes me go insane And I eat my shoes for you now The day I met you You had a wet shoe Your love had left And you threw up your shoes Let’s eat our shoes tonight Oh baby please I’m on my knees I’ve grown accustomed to your shoes And whats in ‘em Give me laced loafers High heels made of prisms Let me eat your feet and shoes And what’s in ‘em We live off of shoes We do what we choose Therefore we conclude We live off of shoes We bring you the gnus The gnus of the shoes The gnus of the shoes Inside it’s so soft Let’s get our shoes off I have a desire My shoes are on fire Don’t try to hide Your shoe’s untied I bet you’ve tried To make it like me Part II You’ve been smokin my dope for an awful long time You’re dead on your ass and your brain cells are dying Walking in the hallway, you stumble and fall You went through the plaster, made a hole in the wall And it’s easy when you get this high Tomorrow morning you’ll want to die You just dream, why don’t you try? Nobody misses you here or at home Your mission in life seems forever to roam You’ll grow up real plastic and become an unknown You’ll either get married or forever be stoned And though you may like it, you’ll have no choice No one will want to hear your voice It says nothing now, it only annoys You’ve been kissed by the wind and blessed by the sun Your mission here is never done A gift to the world so the others get by Breaking their ass for what money can buy For what money can buy.

Crispy Little Bumps ©1972 by Robert Davidson Glad to meet you and your name Too bad you are just the same You say there's been nothing like you before We've heard that story before You wait to sleep and dance to walk a ritual You yell and scream this is not true you're an individual Your ways are very special Only you can understand them Don't strain to prove your point Just light another joint You know your head you know your hip, your cool Individuals can can break all rules The deeper you go the sooner you find the fools You think you are so mystic But you’e not realistic Your whole life will be wasted From the part that you have tasted Your ways are no fun Move onto the next one You know you can't have won... Must it always be this way A junky’s life so glamorous Just right for you The world between her ears Is the only world that she knows

about

An album that redefines the under-used term "iffy".

A coveted "Last Place" for songs that redefine "historical artifact" and lower the bar to beneath the greatest ocean.

Done in the era where playing the tape backwards was cool and trendy. In fact in some cases, entire musical passages were first written, then parts for the singers were copied backwards (last note to first note) then recorded as written, then the tape was reversed in direction. The result was frontwards with backwards envelopes, and as it turns out, made everything unrecognizable.

But at least now we know that, and we are content in knowing that our humble tinkering may in fact have helped countless future generations avoid similar misguidings.
